1. Bosch eBike respects your privacy

1.1 The protection of your privacy when processing your personal data as well as the security of all business data are important matters that we always take into account in our business processes. Any personal data collected when visiting our websites and using our mobile applications is always processed confidentially in accordance with statutory regulations.

1.2 Data privacy and information security are integral parts of our corporate policy.

2. Collecting and processing personal data

2.1 Personal data are individual details about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, photos or other information about a specific or identifiable person.

2.2 We collect, process and use personal data (including IP addresses) only if we have a legal basis to do so, or if you voluntarily provide us with this data for any respective purpose, e.g. within the scope of a registration, a survey, a prize draw, an enquiry to our hotline or to take up a warranty claim.

2.3 In addition, the following information is collected when you visit our website: IP address, website from which the visit is made (referrer), pages visited (pages), downloaded files (downloads), viewing videos/audio, clicking on individual links, search words or search phrases (site search), duration of the visit, browser used, etc. If the visit takes place via online advertising using banners, video ads, search engine advertising, etc., we additionally record which banner or ad word motivated the visit to the Bosch eBike website. With this information we can further optimise our internet pages and tailor them even better to the needs of our visitors.

3. Appropriation

Bosch eBike or a service company commissioned by Bosch eBike uses your personal data for purposes of technical administration of the websites and mobile applications, for customer administration, for product surveys, for your enquiries to Bosch eBike Systems, e.g. to our service or end customer hotline, and for processing warranty cases only to the extent necessary in each case or in accordance with the details of the processing purposes at the corresponding points on our websites. All service providers are obliged by Bosch eBike to maintain confidentiality and to comply with legal requirements.

6. Use of Conversion Tracking

6.1 To make our online offering as attractive as possible for our users, we use Conversion Tracking.

6.2 Our Conversion Tracking partners such as Google AdWords place a cookie on your computer (‘conversion cookie’) for this analysis service if you have accessed our website via an ad of the relevant partner. These cookies expire after 30 days. If you visit a specific page of ours and the cookie has not expired, we and the Conversion Tracking partner can recognise that someone clicked on the ad and was redirected to our site. Cookies cannot be tracked through our website. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics and to determine the total number of users who clicked on the ad and were redirected to a page with a Conversion Tracking tag. However, this is anonymised so that you cannot be identified via the Conversion Tracking.

7. Use of analysis tools

7.1 Bosch eBike uses the web analysis tool Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. "Google". No profile formation takes place. There is a contract between Robert Bosch GmbH and Google Inc. for commissioned data processing according to Sect. 11 Federal Data Protection Law. Google Analytics uses "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will shorten your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet use.

Commissioned data processing
We have concluded a contract with Google for commissioned data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities for the use of Google Analytics.

7.3 Cookies are used in the method as described in 7.1. to enable the analysis of website use. In particular, Bosch eBike can use them to improve data quality.

7.4 If you do not want the relevant analysis cookies to be used, proceed as described in 5.4. or 7.1.

8. Use of external links

Bosch eBike webpages may contain links to the internet pages of third parties not affiliated with us. After clicking on the link, we no longer have any influence on the collection, processing and use of any personal data transferred to the third party by clicking on the link (such as the IP address or the URL of the page on which the link is located), since the conduct of third parties is of course beyond our control. Bosch eBike assumes no responsibility for the processing of such personal data by third parties.

9. Security

9.1 Our employees and the service companies commissioned by Bosch eBike are bound to secrecy and compliance with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act.

9.2 Bosch eBike takes all necessary technical and organisational measures within the meaning of the Federal Data Protection Act to protect your data managed by us against manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised persons or unauthorised disclosure. Our security measures are constantly being improved in line with technological developments.

 

10. Information and correction

Users have the right to request information on the personal data stored about them at any time. Users may also request that their data be corrected at any time.

11. Revocation and deletion

11.1 Furthermore, you can revoke your consent to the collection, processing and use of your personal data at any time.

11.2 Personal data will be deleted if knowledge of the personal data is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which it was stored, if consent has been revoked or if its storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons.

11.3 Data which are necessary for invoicing and accounting purposes, or which are subject to a legal obligation to retain are not affected by this, during the period of legal obligation or beyond, provided that this storage is necessary in order for Bosch to enforce its rights and claims.

14. Registration via the central Bosch ID

You may register for our online offers [exclusively] using the central Bosch ID. The centralised Bosch ID was devised by Robert Bosch GmbH for the Bosch Group in order to allow for the joint users to benefit from offers of different group companies using centralised application data and increase data safety.

Robert Bosch GmbH, Robert-Bosch-Platz 1 70839 Gerlingen-Schillerhöhe, Germany (“RBG”) is responsible for the provision of this single sign-on service.

If you want to apply for a centralised Bosch ID, the General Terms of Use for the Registration and Use of a centralised Bosch ID and the Data Protection Notice of RBG shall apply. After successful registration you may utilise the registration data used for the centralised Bosch ID also for registering for this online offer. To this end, we shall provide an RBG registration template for the centralised Bosch ID. RBG then shall confirm your authorisation and provide us with the master data required for using our offers (e.g. surname, first name, date of birth, company name, email address, telephone numbers, mail address). Your password shall not be communicated to us.
